Candaba Wetlands - April 20, 2005

Fatbirder's Top 1000 Birding Websites

Two days after my last visit here, I find myself in Candaba wetlands once again. The water in the main pond is fast receding as the sizzling Philippine summer marches on at a hot pace. Highlight of this visit are better pics of the Grass Owl, compared to those I got almost a year ago. Grass Owls are very challenging to photograph in flight, as they only appear during dawn or twilight. Light is often not enough for the fast shutter speeds required in flight shooting.
