Got better pics of the Pheasant-Tailed Jacana on this visit to my favorite wetlands. The combos of 350D + Sigmonster (Sigma 300-800 DG) and the 20D + 400 5.6L continue to impress me. The former is a killer at long shots particularly with TCs, while the latter is as good as it gets at fliers. At 1120 mm reach with the Tamron 1.4x TC, even the very shy PT Jacana is not safe from the Sigmonster at ranges where it can only be barely seen by the naked eye (60 to 90 meters).

 EGRET PARADISE. When these white birds did good on earth, die and then go to their version of heaven, this should be the place that awaits them - a shallow pond teeming with marine life. And the only creature that shoots at them is a crazy bird photographer, lugging an even more insane monster lens...8-) [350D + Sigmonster (Sigma 300-800 DG) + Tamron 1.4x TC, 1120 mm, f/14]
