Frida Kligman(nee Prosky) was the woman who raised my Baba. She was my great grandfather Dovid Kligman's 2nd wife and was referred to as my Baba's step mother. I wish I knew more about her but I lost my Baba when I was 2 so I didn't have a chance to ask her about Frida. What I do know is that I have inherited a photo of her- sent from Novo Selitzia to my Baba and Zaida after their marriage in 1920 - on the back of the photo there is a note from Frida asking my Baba to remember her- I think her story should be told and remembered by as many people as possible.
Frida lived in Novo Selitzia, Bessarabia after 1920. I also know that her town of approx 4.000 Jews was invaded in 1941 and all the Jews were either killed or deported to Transinistra- only 200 survived to return from Transinistra and Frida Kligman's name has been found in a record of Jews(at Yad Vashem) from Novo Selitzia that perished during the Holocaust in Transinistra.
