I saw a bird this afternoon in my yard pecking at a mango I had tossed out. The stripe on the head almost looked orange and the body was definitely olive green. First time for me, very excited!

At the time, I was not familiar with this bird. About 2 months ago, one of these beautiful creatures flew to his death by being unaware of my patio door. I feel so bad when every so often I see his/her mate.

I just had one land on my balcony. my kids went nuts and wanted to keep it for a pet, but I said no.

Great shot, these guys are so small and so fast it is reallly hard to get a nice shot.
