I’d had this shot in mind before Christmas and didn’t get around to it so it makes an appearance today because I am intrigued by a gift that’s on its way towards me from DMs folks.

I don’t know what it is, hence the “mystery” of the wrapped box with no hint of the contents, although whatever it is is almost certainly not going to fit into this little package because this is a fake. This box is empty. The ribbon is left over from Christmas and the box is going to contain something else at a later stage, which I’ve no doubt will also find its way onto pbase at some stage, when I’ve got my arse in gear and made the thing I want to put inside the box and photograph.

How do I know I’ve got a gift on its way? Because I got a phone call from DMs Dad who asked me for my email address because he’d sent me a note to what he thought was my address and got a bounce back saying it wasn’t a real address or couldn’t be delivered or some such. I have several email addresses, of which two are being withdrawn from me because I “broke my promise” to BT to use their dial-up service. The remaining ones are managed by DM and he sometimes changes things without thinking through all of the different things that are linked to the change. It appears that this is what’s happened on this occasion.

The email said there was something on its way from Amazon to “cheer me up”. Now I’m curious!

So, their email prompted this mock-up of the mystery gift even though of course if it’s come from Amazon it’ll be in a brown cardboard box!!!!
