28th September 2007 - mirror in the bathroom

...please talk free!

DM has decided to try to cheer me up by knocking off a few little jobs in the house that have been waiting to be finished for ages. He’s put the radiator back on the sitting room wall, plumbed it back in and bled it ready for use. He’s fitted a work surface over the washing machine and tumble drier in the utility room so that now we have a new dog station zebra, where we don’t lose stuff down the back when the washing machine goes into its spin cycle. Many thanks to our new friend Spike who ‘rescued’ the work surface from a skip yesterday!

The best job though has been to fit a mirror onto the bathroom wall!

Why’s that so special? Well, we’ve had the mirror for about a year – I was planning to ‘decorate’ it with mosaics but about three months ago I decided I’d never get around to it because I just don’t have the time for that sort of malarkey so I asked him to put it up unadorned.

This is where the story gets a little weird – for some reason, he brought the mirror in from the utility room and put it into the pantry with the food, where it’s sat on the floor ever since, with me having heebeegeebees about knocking a can of baked beans off the shelf and smashing it and we all know what a superstitious person I am and to be honest, seven years of bad luck is NOT what I need! So, I’ve been extra careful and extra sensible with my shelf stacking ever since.

Today, the mirror got mounted on the wall and here it is in action. It was slightly scary and I did freak a bit realising I have to look at myself now when I clean my teeth, however, I’m sure I’ll get over that. I am really chuffed – so chuffed I even managed a smile! (See - I do know I've been Mrs Misery of late.) The bathroom, with its newly fitted door handle, the mirror and the soon-to-be-fitted airing cupboard door is NEARLY finished - only eighteen months after it was started.

Now he gets his reward – home-made pizza and a glass or two of red stuff on the sofa in front of the fire…….

Last year, I had a big coup work-wise - even though it caused me no end of grief afterwards, then I went out with my footie buddies (Sarah of course isn't just a footie buddy, she's a wonderful 'bestest' buddy) and that made my day!

Just some home-made pizza and the red stuff? That's all? Hmmmm. I think DM needs to raise his price!

Lovely shot and a great job DM.
Now every time you clean your teeth you will have to clean the mirror.
I know, it really Pee's me off.

What a super clinically clean picture!
If that was me, I'd be in the bathroom every five minutes just to admire it.

LOL at DMs comment. It's nice when it all comes together... and you appreciate it all the more when it's taken a while.
