Although we had a day off yesterday, we were busy all day, what with our trip out then a long walk across the moor to celebrate a birthday in the evening. We eventually left our fellow revellers at 11.30pm, when the party was still in full swing (definitely party-poopers given the news this morning that they were all still going until 4.30am!) Then we had a three-quarters of an hour walk home across the moor, in the pitch dark, encountering rock falls, big black beasts (they had horns and if you’ve seen me write about them before, you’ll know that’s as scary as a scary thing) and finally humans copulating in the full glare of a lamp, not ten feet away from us as we walked past pretending not to notice!!!!! (Sometimes, living on the moor can be a bit weird.)
Today then, I got up, went out to do some grand plan work, which meant I was at work at 10am, worked until lunchtime, getting extremely mucky as I went.
When I got home, sorted out my bits and bobs, baked some bread rolls for a late lunch and posted yesterday’s pic. To be honest, PAD is all a bit of an effort at the moment (in case you’d not noticed) – I’m struggling with enthusiasm for the task for the first time ever really. We popped out to Trago and watched some old bloke drive his car into another car then just drive off so we wrote down his registration number and popped a note on the car window of the one which had been damaged then came home.
I was just about to go outside and start mowing grass, when my body just said ‘stop’. I ache, both muscular and mentally. I feel as though I’ve been beaten, in every sense of the word. DM said ‘don’t do it’ (the grass cutting that is) so I didn’t. It’ll wait for another day.
So, I lay down on the bed, DM came in and joined me and we snoozed. That’s the first time I’ve done that for donkey’s years and it was so nice.
