It’s been a long day – heavy work commitments, trying to knock off a few more calendar pics and keeping my head above water! This is pic seven so five more to go and try as I did, I could not get no eight to fall into place tonight.
To top it all, it’s DM and my ‘anniversary’ today – six years together. That’s a long time in anyone’s book and I think that we can celebrate for a whole host of reasons. Triumph over adversity has been our life together – we’ve managed to hold it all together despite huge upheaval – DMs redundancy, selling his house, buying in Cornwall, moving to Cornwall and now making a home here.
So, we’re celebrating with ‘toppings’ on pizza. This is because, despite my diet (yes folks, I am still dieting and have now lost more than ¾ of a stone) we are eating mozzarella tonight because I am blowed if it’s going to waste! I’ve taken this photo of a ‘perfect combination’ and we’re not going to chuck away this stuff which is expensive and delicious so the diet goes out of the window for a night and we’re going to break our ‘no alcohol on school nights’ rule (part of my diet) and quaff a bottle of the red stuff with our pizza.
Apparently the tricolore of the Italian flag is to symbolise faith, hope and charity – we’ve had to have all three in bucket loads to survive all that’s been chucked at us over six years (granted some has been of our own making).
Faith – in each other and in the grand plan.
Hope – that we can pull it all off.
Charity – to forgive each other when we get crabby/down/despondent or overwhelmed.
Happy anniversary to us……long may our lives together continue.
Last year, we were at Eden and celebrating the vine!
