5th April 2006 - cat's piss

We came home from today’s slog dirty (again), tired (again) and generally fed-up (again) but today we added another layer of revoltingness to our beings – a stench of cat’s piss.

The near-cave-like conditions we’ve been beavering away on the grand plan in today have obviously recently been subject to some cat turf wars because the smell of sprayed ‘this is mine’ was so penetrating that it became a part of our very beings today.

When we got home from our labour and thought about today’s events, DM said to me ‘so how are you going to capture the smell of cat’s piss because that’s obviously got to be your pic of the day today'.

Whilst I agreed and while I do have a very vivid imagination, even I was stumped for how to depict the smell of cat’s piss in a photo so I decided to photograph the rather more fragrant ‘Original Mint Source’ shower gel that took away said cat’s piss and replaced that not very charming or beguiling fragrance with another much more acceptable one. Not only that but it is even extraordinarily wonderful to use – the mint in it is sensational, literally.

Mind you, having processed my shot – I actually think you could be mistaken for thinking I had gone with DM’s challenge shot!!!!!

I had DM in my suitcase last year.....but not in flesh and blood unfortunately!

Cathi says to try orange peels and coffee grounds chopped up, that'll help keep the cats at bay. Also, if you can find cocoa hulls, that's great. We use them here, and they smell good, too!
This stuff does look good...

I'm sure there's something you can spray that cats hate the smell of. But it's probably worse! (Or how about a picture of Jeremy Beadle?)
