In a manner similar to the announcement of the selection of a new Pope, we were excited to see this sight this morning when we peeped up the road to see a blue balloon tied to Iain and Beck’s trailer outside their house.
Iain was standing in his front garden looking like the cat that got the cream and waiting to tell anyone who would listen (us) about the new arrival two doors up the street!
He’s here and he’s a boy and he gets a good Celtic name, Gregor. Becky managed to deliver him in double-quick time, just over an hour, then get back to bed for some sleep before Fin woke them again at 6.30am!
She was telling us yesterday that because he was overdue, she’d been and bought some Chinese herbs to bring on the birth. They claim to work in six hours and she went into labour seven hours after taking them…..coincidence or efficacy? I don’t know but I’m sure she was right to try!!!!
I’ve never seen a new-born baby before but this one looked quite content and happy, asleep in his basket on the dining table as Fin clambered onto the chair and stroked his head!
Becky looked absolutely glowing and Dad looked as proud as could be. Fin looked his usual mischievous self and granddad looked a bit chuffed to welcome his latest grandson.
Congratulations from us!
