17th July 2005 - hot

All sorts of weird things have been happening in our lives lately, some of which we need to wait a bit before sharing with the world. Sometimes, because of the sensitivities of others, it's not possible to splurge it all out until everyone who needs to know does already (before reading it on pbase). There has been more of this cosmic dust sprinkling around the place today and these events have just magnified that feeling – we are still on a roll! The downside is it’s very unsettling and making me feel really tired – all that stress!

So, I’m not going to write much tonight, suffice to say it’s still very hot (DM measured 29 º C in the shade at lunchtime) – what is it about some men that make them need to measure such stuff? I just thought ‘it’s bloody hot, find some shade to sit in’……..

In fact, it’s so hot that all the balls were down on the Galileo Thermometer until half an hour ago when this one popped back up to the top.

I know that the Galileo has been the subject of many a PotD before now – I myself did this one eighteen months or so ago, DM has certainly done (the same) one at least once and I’ve seen a few others appearing in the meta gallery too BUT I don’t believe I’ve ever seen one with only one ball in it. So maybe it’s not original but it is a teeny bit different. Well, it was either this or a flower - gimme a break!

I’m hoping for the balls to float soon because it’s so damn hot that I can’t concentrate on anything…….

Last year I was cooking broad beans and two years ago I was confessing my love of Junk!

What a gorgeous blue. Super simplicity too.

Hmmmm, ball floating, yes that's it... We need more ball floating!

It's so humid outside, here that you think you're going to drown if you take a breath. This week they's calling for 33 degrees high all week. Currently it's 28 and it 8:27pm, BUT we all (almost) have air-conditioning. So we can stay cool and sleep well at night.

Oh, you are SUCH wussies!!! Whinging about 29 degrees! Move to lovely tropical Philly, where it's been 35 and 90 some percent humidity for weeks.

I'm commiserating with you! Here's to more ball floating! Cheers.

Yep, it's very very very hot! I haven't seen a pic of one of these before - it's made me want to go and get one! I love the background!

It's only 28°C here in my office now...
