Queen Victoria was, I believe, our longest reigning monarch. She reigned from 1837 when she was just eighteen to 1901 when she died. Her husband, Albert died in 1861 and she never remarried but is said to have had a long affair with a member of her staff in Scotland at Balmoral called John Brown. The film Mrs Brown depicts this relationship and is an excellent film if you've not seen it.
