For months now I've been holding bits of fruit and veg up to the light going - 'I want to photograph that'. Today I've had a bit of time and some inspiration and made myself a little 'stage' to put my food onto, that I can light from behind and here is the first shot I took. Yeah, I know - it's hardly rocket science but it's been bugging me for weeks so I'm quite pleased with my efforts!

I am fascinated by food as you may well have spotted already. To me it's a thing of great beauty as well as being delicious! I know that some of the shots I've taken today can be made higher quality by better control of the lighting and I also know that today's fridge contents hasn't delivered me the best subjects - I just got out what I'd got in the fridge and photographed. I will buy myself some more appealing subjects and get a better control of the lighting in a few days!

Phew - thank goodness for a day when I don't have to think about Christmas - on with real life I say - hurrah!
