I've sat here for four hours today folding and signing our corporate Christmas Card. I have just finished the last card and thought I'd signed all 1300 of them. This photo shows the scale of this depressing task.
The really gloomy thing is that I've had the footie on the TV while doing it and my Spurs have lost 4-0 to Newcastle. Talk about a complete routing. As each goal has gone in, my spirits have dropped. I think I'm as low as a low thing.
David has just walked into the room and said 'Have you done both boxes?'. Wail, wail and much gnashing of teeth. There is another box. I've actually done less than half of the total. I have to finish them before taking them to the office on Monday for my colleagues to add their signatures and catch the last post before our clients break up for the Christmas holidays.
Ah well, bang goes my Sunday too - and the weather forecast is good. I'd hoped to get outside for a bit.
Many of you will have noticed how much I hate Christmas by my 'bah humbug' comments on pictures of santa and baubles and trees everywhere. This isn't helping.
The only consolation is that David designed the card so he will at least be financially better off because of it. It's the culmination of the postcard campaign he designed for us in the summer. Three shots from which appeared in his potd. One, two, three.
