This sorry looking thing came from our little cottage in Darite in Cornwall. It was once the window beside the front door. We had asked the people who installed new, double glazed windows to incorporate these (probably) Victorian glazed panels into the new windows but they said it couldn’t be done. I assume couldn’t really meant it wasn’t economically viable.
We took away one of the panels with the intention of restoring it and making it into a table or something else. It has sat, now for more than four years, out in the wind, rain, snow and frost and has not been touched since. I am ashamed of this neglect and can only put it down to our abject laziness. Will it ever be made beautiful? I do hope so but as it stands, propped against the shed, I am not at all confident.
