David is, let’s face it, a bit faddy. He goes through phases where he MUST have fresh coffee with hot milk and this gadget gets used every day for a few weeks, then he switches off coffee for a while and something else gets his undivided!

The Gaggia has been moved to the opposite side of the kitchen because its steam is in less evidence than the steam from the new kettle and I don’t want my cupboards delaminating as a result of steam damage. As its use is as rare as hens’ teeth these days, it’s been relegated to the work surface under the cupboards and the kettle has been promoted to the prime spot.

Ah well, I look forward to its next resurgence as a gadget – I love a good cup of coffee me. I think I’m going to have to get my friend Maree to encourage him to get an electric grinder for the beans, that’ll do it.
