OK I’ll confess that I hate strimmers with a passion despite their utility. When you can get the horrid things to work, they’re great but the truth is that they are so unreliable that it renders them almost useless. It’s the line feed mechanisms in them that fail, fail again and fail some more. I’m not exaggerating to say that my previous strimmer (a Bosch) caused me to be reduced to tears because I couldn’t get it to feed the line through and the cartridge was impossible to get on and off. Every time I got a bit of line long enough to strim, you’d start it and it’d go ping…then nothing. Then there would be a half hour struggle to get the cartridge off, get a bit more line pulled through then get the cartridge back on.
So, this one…it’s cordless so that brings a benefit over a corded one and if you add to that the fact that it actually feeds the line efficiently then it’s such a huge leap up from the last one. This then is for posterity – it’s a bit knackered looking but it’s a sign of good use.
