2nd May 2015 - faking it

We need somewhere to hide something and came up with the idea of inside a vase with a bunch of fake flowers in it. We like the pun of fake flowers concealing something – a bit like the comedy clown’s fake flower that squirts water in your face when invited to smell it. I chose these because they match the colours of the room where the concealed item was supposed to go – or so I thought. It was only as I was queueing to pay for them that I realised that in DMs head they were going somewhere else entirely! Oh well, they are still wonderful, exuberant colours and will still look fabulous in their new location. Ooops.

As an aside, I have noticed while processing this image (though not while shooting it) that there is a glorious reflection in my magnificent oak table. This table was made especially for me and it’s amazing. Its top is two inch thick solid English oak and it takes four people to lift it. The base is separate and DM and I can just about manhandle it ourselves although with great difficulty. I am so torn. I just don’t know what to do about this flaming table. Do I sell it for peanuts on ebay? Do I store it somewhere in the hope that circumstances may change or does it stay where it is? I know I have to come up with a plan but I am struggling with what the plan should be…
