We’re making slow but good progress on our project. Today one of the most complicated bits has been done. Over the years we’ve worked out a work flow where we don’t completely drive each other nuts and therefore don’t end up screaming at one another. The flow is anything that requires precision and care = DMs job. Anything that requires tenacity, grunt and very physical stuff = LMs contribution to the whole project. Hence today I’ve been using the chop saw cutting up the cladding and he’s been attaching it to the battens that he’s carefully and precisely attached to the walls in exactly the right places.
In between my duties as saw operative, I’ve done some pruning, planted some shrubs, washed, ironed and put away two loads of washing, made two lasagnes and 16 “Easter” sweet bread rolls (raisins, orange and lemon peel, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon).
Now I have to break the news that I have to go away next weekend so he’ll be working alone without his saw operative. I’m going to have to work super hard all week to make that one right. Oh Crap.
