I’ve just treated myself to a new stick blender because my old one was falling to bits. To be fair, it was more than 25 years old and had been used a lot during its lifetime. This is the new one – all shiny and red. It was the one that Which thought was the best buy (thanks JW for the access) and I managed to bag a complete bargain by buying it from Trago Mills at half of the going rate elsewhere.

This one has been used twice now. Last time out it was to blend tomato soup. Today it was used to blend the ginger and butternut squash soup that had been slowly cooking in the crockpot overnight. Once blended, a couple of ladles-full found their into my little wide mouth soup flask and then into my tummy for lunch.

Easy peasy soup, no stress cooking, blended, transported to work and eaten with a chunk of home-made seedy bread. Yummmmmmmmm……
