I never tire of seeing this beautiful girl asking to play tennis ball, even though I do occasionally get bored with the actual process. She walks on Rosie’s pads because both of my baby girls have had tennis ball fixations that can fill every waking moment. As I type, DM is in the field trying to sate her but of one thing we can be sure, Lola will want to start another game approximately 10 minutes after coming in and she’ll put down her ball then shuffle backwards a few paces and wait. She’s got immeasurable patience because she’ll stay in position for hours if she thinks there is any chance whatsoever of the game restarting.

It’s Friday night and I am reliably informed that she played until she could barely stand earlier but here she is presenting her ball for the next throw. It is amazing that her optimism is never dented. She never gives up and she always thinks it will eventually work out for her. Maybe I should take a leaf out of her book and learn to think that one day someone will want to employ me…
