One of the good things that doing a photo blog can deliver is to look for inspiration everywhere you go and in everything you see. This is a prime example of that. I have wandered into the bathroom bleary eyed each morning since I made my mosaic and seen this sight, which I’ve often thought would make a good photo. Today is the day that I remembered the inspiration at the point at which I was wandering around with my camera going “oh, WHAT am I going to photograph today”.

Its surreal effect comes from the fact that the shot is of a convex mirror on the bathroom wall and actually has some photographic merit in as much as I had to light the photo with a flash pointing the opposite way to the lens because without it, the mosaic was in complete darkness and all you could see was the back-lights illuminating the tiles on the bathroom floor.

Yes, you could say it’s a bit pants or you could say that inspiration from the smallest room in the house is as good as inspiration from anywhere. I might be inclined to think that I should have a cystern where I flush out these images before I post them - a sort of crap filter!
