…cuddle a bear.

On the left, Big Ted – he’s a Wendy Boston teddy bear who has (I’m sure he won’t mind me telling you this) been around the block a few times. He’s 53 years old in a couple of weeks’ time and is covered in the battle scars of life. His “injuries” include being totally threadbare from being loved too much, he has a hole in one of his arms after being bitten by a real rabbit (Big Bun) and a blood stain on his leg after some long ago nose bleed from yours truly. He has also undergone major surgery when he was unpicked, his innards removed and replaced with new stuffing then re-sewn by my Mum about 15 years ago. She took pity on him because he was as flat as a pancake from being slept on for donkeys’ years.

On the right, Comfort Bun – he’s a build-a-bear bunny and he’s rather wonderful because he has a heart that beats when you squeeze him. I kid you not, that is as comforting as comfort gets. Comfort Bun came into my life quite recently when I was ill and I’d been advised to get Big Ted out of the cupboard and cuddle him by my doc. My Mum blanched at the thought because she thought Big Ted would never last another serious love-in session with me so she built me Comfort Bun to provide just that.

Both are previous subjects for this blog but not together and as I have no other ideas and it’s late and I’m in need of comfort and full of doubt (again) after another depressing day job hunting and dealing with horrible paperwork they’ll do nicely.They do their job well, I only have to look at them to feel a little less blue.
