Dear Mummy,
I know you are really cross with me, but I was only trying to help. When you had made your paving slabs and left them inside the log store, where they wouldn’t get rained on, to go off, I just thought they needed a bit more agitation. So that’s what I did. I popped inside, did a little dance all over your moulds and just made sure that there were no bubbles or other bits that weren’t quite right.
It’s a mystery to me why you are so annoyed – after all, I made a really good job of mixing them up. Even Daddy said to me “wow Lola, you’ve made quite a job of that”. I think he was saying how pleased he was.
In any case, I don’t get much chance to go into the log store because it’s normally clogged up with logs and that’s no fun. So when I spotted the opportunity to go inside… well, I just had to take it didn’t I?
You seem particularly put out that I came back into the house afterwards – well I had to tell you how helpful I’d been. How was I to know I’d still have concrete all over my paws? How could I have guessed that I’d leave a trail of concrety footprints all across the kitchen floor? I WAS only trying to let you know how good I’d been and how helpful.
Can you ever forgive me?
Lots and lots of licks and love
Lola-pops.
(Mum – “oh how can I resist such a cute, sad little face…I’d forgive you anything my little sweetie – I’m particularly sure Ruby would have been ever so proud of you!”
