5th May 2014 - grafting

Nothing ever gets done in our house because of my work schedule for my PGCE, which continues to be relentless. Today, for a bit of respite, we popped out for an hour to a car boot sale and we both agreed that all we could see when we got there was piles of old tat. On our way home, we were both gloomy and shared the feeling that the same is true every time we enter our own home. It’s getting us down.

So we spent a couple of hours clearing out our spare bedroom come photography studio so that the bed that’s been propped up against the wall in our hall for the last month can go back into its place in the bedroom. After moving a load of “stuff”, I noticed the holes in the wall from where we’d moved a radiator a couple of years ago. We both agreed that it’d be harder to fill and paint once the bed is back in place so I said I’d pop to Trago, buy some filler and get it done before the bed goes back in. Simple.

Good news – a job that’s been waiting for a couple of years to get done is finally getting done and there are two bags of rubbish sitting in the hall, one step closer to going to the dump. The bad news is that the bed is in the hall for another week while the filling and painting get done and it’s another thing on my endless list of “things to do today”.

Back in days of yore, when I had a life, I was planting peas today in 2003.
