JD is where he wants to be more than any other place. He’s on his sofa, next to his Dad and is in receipt of a tickle. He’s weary from three days of travelling – today was the return leg from Wokingham back to Cornwall. He’s battle scarred (see his scabby nose) from a late night encounter with a hedgehog on the lawn of our in-laws last night. I managed to persuade him to leave the poor snufflepig alone but not until he’d already given it a poke with his snout. You should have seen him jump when he got spiked!

We’re all exhausted from the journey and the sadness of the occasion but very glad to be home again – there truly is no place like it.
