Relative to the last few days, today has been a paradise of calm and good things. We've spent the day in the garden and been in and out of the hens run taking them weeds and cut grass to eat. I've got four hens - two pairs of two - this one is either Milly or Molly though since they were named I've never know which is which! I've had them for about five years now, having bought them off an old man who couldn't look after them any more. I paid £4 for them and their food costs £14 per quarter. I don't really look on them as a production unit but it does occur to me that they have repaid my investment hundreds of times over with their eggs, compost and love of eating weeds.
