I’m not sure why the leaves of this hydrangea have been calling to me of late. I just like their jagged-i-ness. The trouble with them is that they live about 7 feet from the ground and rise just above the fence meaning that even in good weather they are usually flailing around in the prevailing westerly winds.
So, tonight, other subject matter not leaping forth and yelling “photo me, I’m: cute; interesting; exciting; flamboyant; or otherwise fabulous”, the tip of a branch was nipped off and photographed.
I wonder if tomorrow will find a solution to my problem of today – how to drill a hole in an ancient granite wall that’s got super rock solid granite interspersed with what basically amounts to sand and when you start to drill, you have no idea which of the two you'll hit. At the weekend, DM hit sand. The hole was filled and it was hoped that it could now be drilled to take a support for a curtain pole – not so. So, hole refilled and plan b swings into action. Plan b is to make another hole a few inches from the first hole and hope to find something more solid to drill into. If plan b fails, there is no plan c so said curtain pole might just end up as firewood, cut to pieces with another power tool - this time one with jagged teeth.
