I’ve said before that we live in a cold house. It’s so cold that despite spending significantly more than the national average on fuel (and approximately 3 times what we used to spend in our old, bigger house), our home rarely gets above 15-16⁰C. We know this because we have a Galileo thermometer on the side in our lounge.

That’s why, when I got home tonight, I was amazed to see the 22⁰C ball down and with absolutely no effort from us. Blimey. I know it’s been a hot day but even on hot days our stone house is usually still as cold as ice. Looking at our neighbour’s weather station data, it’s reached 26⁰C outside.

Last year the weather was awful and I spent the summer trapped in the house with no car, no money and unable to do my outdoor jobs because of the weather. This year the weather is lovely and despite having no income-generating job, I have spent the entire summer so far indoors working hard. Somehow, somewhere, my life got turned into something it shouldn’t be.
