Archie is a Battersea Dogs Home stray. I'd had him about six weeks when he chased a fox down the garden and didn't stop when he got to the greenhouse. The result was horrific. Archie trod on a piece of broken glass which severed an artery and he ended up in the vet at 1am getting his leg stitched up. He had a very fetching purple bandage! Within a couple of days I'd dismantled the greenhouse as it wasn't safe for man nor beast - I'd been turning a blind eye to it till the accident. Four years later (and four years without tomatoes, peppers, aubergines etc) I've invested in a new greenhouse with toughened safety glass. It's been murder putting it up - four days and it's still not finished.
Today Archie was able to come and have an inspection, to see if it meets with his approval. As you can see, he made himself very comfortable and didn't seem to remember the accident at all.
By the way, we have two dogs - Rosie (another Battersea Dogs Home baby) just hasn't quite made it to my diary yet. You can see her .....oh and me too....(she's the extremely gorgeous one) here!
