Rosie lost her battle with cancer today, just when we thought she’d beaten it.

Anyone who is a friend of David’s on facebook will know that about three weeks ago, we had to take her to the vet for a routine check up and we were told that there was no sign of the cancer anywhere on her body. The vet who examined her couldn’t believe how well she was and it’s true to say that she was in rude good health until a few days ago.

She was enjoying life to the full until last Monday when she started to get a bit clingy and went off her food. Since then, she’s gone downhill rapidly, culminating with a couple of dreadful days over the weekend. I didn’t get to bed last night at all because I was nursing her and when we took her for her third visit to the vet in as many days this morning, we were told that there was nothing more they could do for her.

So, we took the decision to let her go peacefully there and then rather than to let her suffer.

My little girl is gone and I am devastated.
