I think Stu's comment is the most to the point. I suppose wherever we stand, the guy at this end will be looking at us. But in addition to the nice geometry of your angle, it emphasises the closest aspostle, which completely changes the impression created by the image. An inspired composition.

Dynamic... great play of length here!

"And what are YOU looking at?"
Priceless...
Stu02-Oct-2007 14:25
And I really like this too. A look you picked up on in the outer margins of the painting that perhaps ordinarily is ignored, and I like the way it is composed to make us the subject of his glare. It breathes new life into the painting.

Or maybe am soon going to be...but mistrusted. Almost like sometimes people glance at you when you enter a room. This is really very strange and effective. Wow.
Barri Olson01-Oct-2007 00:56
This almost makes me feel I am in the painting.

What a great shot! V.

Abstraction of a primitive painting. That's two painting styles in one!
Phil Douglis29-Sep-2007 05:45
Once again, you change the context in which a painting is normally viewed, creating a frame within a frame that makes the figure at the far left appear to be looking suspiciously at us.

Love this!!! So well composed Ai Li.

OMG!!!...Disturbing...K
Guest 26-Sep-2007 04:23
I don't know how you managed to catch the attention of two of the apostles... and maybe you are disturbing them! But that way, you have left your footprint in History. A clever comp and angle.
Guest 26-Sep-2007 03:08
Cool compo.

The angle of this shot really adds an abstract feel to the painting...modern vs. ancient.
