I can't help but look at this from the point of view of the painting. Is she jealous of the photographer's subject, or apprehensive about being next?!

That's where you realize the density of the Louvre! You can be in front of Ingres and simply ignore it because there is something more interesting next to it. Your comp is very interesting, as if the camera LCD was another dimension in the image. The choice of DOF is perfect.
