wave of life

" Life is a wave, which in no two consecutive moments of its existence is composed of the same particles.
Just be in harmony with existence, to be always calm to let each wave of life wash you a little farther up the shore. "

When I saw the thumbnail for this one I said: Portugal :D
Macau was until recently a little heartbeat of Portugal in China and I know that a lot of things will stay there, just like this touch of the sidewalks that are so imediately recognizable...

Great shot! The pattern is very Portuguese, can be seen in Portugal and in many Brazilian cities, especially in Rio

A nice place to learn line dancing ;o)

This is truly amazing, the illusion of a true wave. The slight reflections in the distance even add to it. Amazing.

My brain tells me this floor is flat, but my eye says differently. Great how you've abstracted the people carried across the waves to make it seem even more like the floor is moving.

Excellent POV! We see only the legs, focusing our attention on the geometric pattern of the ground. Roberto

Beautiful shot, wonderful in black and white. I like how you've made everyone anonymous.

I think I would fall over and start paddling if I came across this floor. Phew. Another vertigo moment. :-)

Perhaps the most perfect composition.

How good is that! Both the text and the image. The text is so true, the image is so appropriate! No to mention that I love the crop and point of view. Voted!

What a gift to photographers that floor is! Nice work - are we all going to have to start writing poems to keep up with you?!
Silvia Roitman08-Aug-2006 18:39

Fantastic idea and concept with that "waves of life" and the fitting commentary to it! A perfect mental recovery for this day again! Thank you!

BTW...this reminds me on the lady I saw just this evening laying on the ground of the train station and take fotos only from the feet of passengers passing by.....

i love the way you put quotes and or ideas with these 'traveller' photos. it's a reminder that travel is as much, if not more, about discovering who we are within ourselves as it is about finding out about the world we inhabit. the inclusion of the extra pairs of legs at the top of the frame is clever too...a reminder that although we may feel alone, the world is full of others just like us on the same journey.

The one on the left is riding the crest...a good day for him I guess..... ;-)K

I like the juxtaposition of the ordered lines and the random element of the people. Fits very well with your text.
Guest 08-Aug-2006 16:01
Excellent composition and BW
Guest 08-Aug-2006 15:53
Love the concept AL , and each and every one of us is in different situation and facing different waves and challenge of life.
