LOL! I got a kick out of crina's comment. Amazing how ones life experience can affect the interpretation of a particular scene or even a scent. Trust me crina, you have to see these wonderful birds in person. They aren't given to gossip either ;-)

old women in rural Romania gather the same way on special benches in front of their houses (not exactly porches) - and gossip - this photo reminds me of that kind of scene - big fat butts and big mouths, too...
