Workshop 2: SOLIDARITEIT EN VREDE: Verschillen gebruiken om verder te kunnen gaan.

Following the path of feminist lesbians before us, we peace activists inspire sharing of privileges in our lives and our political work.  This is a workshop in which we will talk of our experiences in the  movement and asnwer questions:
-whom do we define as the Other? How are we responsible to reach out to the Different Other one? As an activist, as our movement?
-Audre Lorde said that each one of us has some power as little as it may be and it is our responsibility to define it and use it in the service of what needs to be changed. Where are we on this path?
-what are our social, class, nation, gender...  privileges, what are our powers - and to what extent are we aware of them?  How have we used/abused our privileges? What have been positive experiences in actively using them?
-how about differences & solidarities within "our own group"?  
-what experiences do we have with alliances across differences in Women in Black or in our other activist groups? It often seems that the same discussions take place as 25 years ago.
How can we move on?   

WHAT ARE NEW INSIGHTS THAT YOU DISCOVER IF YOU COMBINE THE POWER OF OUR DNA WITH THE CONCLUSION OF THIS WORKSHOP ?

we suggest:
- need to have young people, more diverse women
- connect with your own power and that from others
- we must question ourselves and reach out
- personal contacts with people who are different from us
- re-examine our objectives and the way we present ourselves
- value what we’re doing
