The second day of the Women in Black conference e had a three hour protest on M G Road. Dressed in black we were holding banners, posters and placards of resistance. In 2009 I already was in a WiB vigil in Bangalore (during Women’s Court on Dowry and Related Forms of Violence Against Women), and just like that more than thousands leaflets were handed out, and people really direct started reading the pamphlet after they got it, and none was thrown to the ground.
So many things were happening, some participants found ways to show their protest to people passing by in all different ways in traffic, other gave press interview, there was dance and poetry and singing and chatting …
And when the evening fell down, candles were lighted and all action continued.
I tried to capture all events what was happening, trying to capture all participants, but that resulted in such a huge amount of photos. I made selection after selection and then decided to show you the final photos I have chosen in 5 different albums. But do imagine that most of these was happening almost at the same time …
