Focus on Octagonal windmill Toremansmolen in Arendonk"

In 1808 this mill was build with parts from a predecessor postmill that stood here. The postmill was blown away by a storm. The Octagonal mill was build as a grain- and oilmill. It is unique for Belgium. We have only 1 wooden octagonal windmill and it´s unique for Europe as a wooden octagonal mill in a combination of Grain- and Oilmill. The millersfamily Raeymaekers started working this mill and they bought him in 1869. The oil mill in the basement was added in 1859. In 1980 the mill was bought by the village of Arendonk. Untill today the RaeyMaekers family still operates the mill. It is a must see for every windmill lover.
