The sack filled with product is inserted between the 2 fixed iron pressing plates. On the left there is a large wooden wedge that is stamped downwards with the wooden stamper. When it is stamped into the oak block, the wedge presses against the sack with product and the oils comes out under the oak block. In a next gallery, you will see the process performed. There was an oil pressing in another mill but it is the same method.
