7AM Hunt from the club. Eleanor drew the woods East of the driveway and then headed out the North side of the property into Brommelsiek Park. Nothing was found until they crossed Wilson Rd behind Abrams house and went into the lower hayfield. Then the hounds struck and headed toward DD Highway. Fortunately they turned before crossing the higway and came back West again. Gene then viewed a young coyote and gave a hearty Hallow. At this point the hounds were split and Eleanor waa trying to decide whether there was one coyote or two as some of the steadier hounds such as Tanker and Nabisco had headed back behind Abrams house instead of in the direction where Gene had viewed the coyote. It was determined that those hounds might have been backtracking and Mary gathered them at the concrete bridge on Wilson Rd. and sent them back toward Eleanor. By this time we were following Eleanor and Werner led the field over quite a few coops as we headed south through the park. The hounds could be heard to turn again and we headed back up the pipeline to the lower hay field. The hounds continued to circle for almost an hour until it sounded like they had checked but were still speaking. Eleanor went to check to see if they had run one to ground but before she got there the hounds started moving again. Due to the temperatures we were finding that our horses were quite used up and waited on the hill behind Abrams where we could hear the hounds speak and continue to circle. Then there was another tallyho and shortly after that Eleanor viewed a young coyote only 50 ft ahead of the lead hounds who were right on the line. It was a great early season hound exercise for the pack.
