Lunch/Brunch – Provided by Gene Deutsch – sandwiches, chips, and cookies.

We had a nice cool morning. The temperature was 51 when we started and 58 when we finished. It felt warmer than that in the sun. The barometric pressure was rising and wind was from the NW at about 5 mph. It was an absolutely beautiful day.

There were a only four horses in the field. We parked at the lake 33 parking lot and headed south and west from there. We somehow lost Eleanor quite quickly and Lei did not have a radio. We were in the woods and did not hear anything. We walked slowly in the direction Eleanor planned to go. Right about 9AM we heard a hound speak and we headed in that direction. We could then hear more hounds. Soon afterwards we saw a grey coyote cross the road with the hounds right on the line behind him. We waited and watched the hounds. Soon Eleanor came into view. Our run started at 9:13 AM and went until 9:35 AM. We covered 3.1 miles. The hounds were great and stayed on the entire time. We saw a couple of huge bucks jump up but the hounds stayed steady on the coyote line.

After this run we gathered hounds and worked our way back to the trailers. Eleanor had all the hounds back except for Daphne who eventually did show up. We had all worked up an appetite and were happy to eat the sandwich fixings Gene brought.
