Survivor...The Lesson

This was taken in early May. I had no intention of posting it as I could imagine only one outcome.

By the time I found him it was obvious to me that with no flight feathers fully developed he was not going to be there the next day.

Thankfully, I was wrong and incredibly Mom stayed with him on the ground during that first week.

They seemed to have found a safe spot under a neighbors deck. Over the last few weeks

this little fellow can be heard throughout the yard and finally has discovered some of the seed

and suet and even the bird bath. The pictures that follow were taken over

the last few days. For the first time in 20 years he appears to be the only baby jay in our yard.

These pictures are posted purely for enjoyment, both mine and yours...

I'm glad he/she is coming along fine as well.
Looking at this little thing and reading your story its hard not to 'ah' and 'ooh' out loud.
Heart warming to have seen it.
