The reason for the look is that the AMISH are very serious about not wanting their picture taken, it's a graven image....

My goodness, such a serious face on this young lad. I wonder if he was
just putting on his 'camera face' or if this is an indication of the resolute,
no-nonsense adult he will become. Then again, one split second does
not necessarily tell all %:).
