The first of a few projects for me this year was a quick trip to Iceland to see the new volcano that was erupting there. A spectacular way to "re-enter" the world after 14 months of relatively limited travel. I'm normally a fan of tack sharp. But this was hot, and as a result much of this image is wavy and soft and distorted. The intense heat from the molten lava field creates a significant amount of distortion in the air.
