Thickened part of the antennae is very short and ends with a bristle (arista)
Two simple eyes are present on the top of front of the head (br)
The tarsi are made up of 3 segments
The femora are at the front with weak spines
The base of the middle legs is close together where they originate under the thorax
Sharpshooters force water droplets out of the tip of the abdomen with and audible popping noise
