My name is Jakob Schiller and I'm the photo editor at the Berkeley Daily Planet newspaper in Berkeley, CA. We're a small community bi-weekly and often run science stories on our back page.
This week we are running a story about daddy-longlegs and are searching for a photo to accompany the article. I was searching the web and ran across the photos you have on your site. They are exactly what we are looking for so I wanted to write and ask for permission to use one.
We are a free paper so unfortunately we cannot offer monetary reimbursement, but we will of course include a photo credit and will mail several copies of the paper once the photo is published..
If we can use the photo we can pull if off the web but if there is a way to e-mail a high resolution copy that would be even better. The photos turn out the best when they are at least 200 dpi and around 6 inches on their longest side.
If we can use the photo we would need it by noon on Monday (Pacific Time). I'm sorry about the short notice.
I really appreciate your help and if you have any questions please let me know. You can e-mail at this address or call me at 510-841-5600, ext. 118, or on my cell at 510-710-4348.
