While photographing a hawk flying overhead, my camera briefly fell
upon this beautiful Scarlet Tanager preening.
The bird was sitting in small hole in the fresh spring green leaves of a large tree nearby.
An even smaller hole of the blue sky shone through the somewhat transparent feathers of the stretched wings giving a blueish appearance.
All captured in a fraction of a second!
