The North Gallery is limited to essentially Beijing and surrounding area. I hope to get further north some day into Inner Mongolia and the provinces of Liaoning and Heilongjiang.
Beijing is currently in a mad rush to 'modernize' the city and to make it the same as any western world city, and has undergone an extensive program to prepare itself for the 2008 Olympics which, to many, was an outstanding success. But, at what cost? Construction is still everywhere - from the tearing down of the old and the displacement of thousands to the building of the new including new roads and highways.
