Butterflies of Malaysia

A butterfly is a flying insect of the order Lepidoptera. The term Lepidoptera means “scaled wings”. The members (butterflies) of this order has the special characteristics as, 4 broad wings in adults, Scales on the wings, Sucking mouthparts (Proboscis) in adults, Large compound eyes in adults, Complete metamorphosis (life cycle)
The butterflies can be further grouped into 2 superfamilies as shown below,

Birding is my main hobby, but watching the beautiful wings of butterflies seem to be the next best thing for me. Your beautiful photos would help me identify them.

Beautiful shots.Brings back sweet memories of my childhood days when butterflies still flies around K.L. and not the concrete jungle we now see.
