Mount Pelier is Vermont's capital. It is the smallest capital city in the U.S., with a population of only 7,000. When we parked to go see the capital there was a small news crew filming an interview on the lawns near where we parked. We ended up getting in a conversation with the guy being interviewed after the news crew left; it was VT's Lieutenant Governor, Phil Scott! He was very nice and also very informative about their city. We stopped in Mount Pelier during during our all-day trip to New York.
